Life was a kaleidoscope of excitement and joy, pain and sorrow

In three words, I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. IT GOES ON!

Life after Chinese New Year January 30, 2009

Chinese New Year comes and go. Actually the one thing that I am excited about Chinese New Year is the reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year. Back then when my grandma was still alive, my family and I went back to my grandma’s house for reunion dinner every year. After she passed away, we have our own small reunion dinner, just my dad, mom, elder sister, younger brother and me. Reunion dinner give me a very warm feeling. It’s like everyone sit down and have this special dinner together while chit-chatting and gossiping stuffs.

Anyway, it’s time to catch up with my tutorials and dramas!!! So, my to-do-list for this month will be:

(1) Have to start doing the Assessing the Quality of Medicine’s tutorials and online quiz.

(2) Must watch the very popular and new Korean drama and the new Japanese drama special!!! (Both was recommended by my Indonesian friend!)

(3) Have to start making my dad’s birthday card soon. Make is much more meaningful than buy!

(4) Must finish reading The Mediator series by next week. I still have 4 more books to go!

Nothing really interesting happened this past few weeks. My life is very peaceful indeed! :P Anyway, I heard that the chinese zodiac of dragon will not have a very peaceful life this year. However, I only believe in myself and no matter what happen, just bear with it! :)

P/S: I received a letter from Popular bookshop last week. It states that I have won a lucky draw that I don’t even remember I have participated in. Well, the prizes are some backpack with poster and notebook of a certain Disney’s movie that I don’t even remember what it is. Anyway, it’s a good beginning to start with! :)

Things my mother taught me January 16, 2009

I once read this really hilarious article somewhere before and decided to share it with everyone. Actually, my mom did “taught” me some of these things, and I bet most of the moms across the world also said this same things to their children too. :)

To appreciate a job well done: “If you’re going to kill each other, do it outside – I’ve just finished cleaning!”

Religion: “You’d better pray that will come out of the carpet.”

Time travel: “If you don’t tidy up that mess, I’m going to knock you into the middle of next week!”

Logic: “Because I said so, that’s why.”

Further logic: “If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you’re not going to the shops with me.”

Foresight: “Make sure you wear clean underwear in case you’re in an accident.”

Irony: “Keep crying and I’ll give you something to cry about.”

Osmosis: “Shut your mouth and eat your supper!”

Contortionism: “Will you ‘look’ at the dirt on the back of your neck!”

Stamina: “You’ll sit there until all that spinach is finished.”

Weather: “It looks as if a tornado has swept through your room.”

Physics problem: “If I yelled beacuse I saw a meteor coming toward you, would you listen then?”

Hypocrisy: “If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times – don’t exaggerate!”

Behavior modification: “Stop acting like your father!”

Envy: “There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don’t have wonderful parents like you do!”

Anticipation: “Just wait until we get home.”

Receiving: “You are going to get it when we get home!”

Medical science: “If you don’t stop crossing your eyes, they are going to freeze that way.”

Think ahead: “If you don’t pass your spelling test, you’ll never get a good job.”

Humour: “When the lawnmower cuts off your toes, don’t come running to me.”

Become an adult: “If you don’t eat your vegetables, you’ll never grow up.”

Sex: “How do you think you got here?”

Genetics: “You’re just like your father.”

Roots: “Do you think you were born in a barn?”

Wisdom of age: “When you get to my age, you will understand.”

Justice: “One day you’ll have kids… and I hope they turn out just like you!”

Isn’t it like some global-universal-lessons-that-every-mom-will-”teach”-their-children-about? Funny to be true enough!

My new obsession! January 10, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — tseling @ 10:52 am

Yup! My current obsession is Twilight!!! Actually I have been spending two weeks reading all the four series of the Twilight saga from my laptop. My classmate sent me the PDF file of all the four series and I literally spent my whole day reading pages after pages of the Twilight series from my laptop. I’m sure my eyes are going to turn blind soon. However, it save me so much from going to the bookstore to buy those books! :P That’s why I have not been updating my blog and have not been visiting all my friend’s blog to leave some comments for a while now.

I must admit that the story was just simply fantastic. Actually, should be so much more than fantastic but with my current vocabulary level, I simply can’t find a better word to describe it. I can imagine whatever situation the characters were in while reading through the stories.

I simply can’t resist the urge not to fall in love with the lead male character in the novel! Edward is just everything every girl wishes their partner can be. By the way, his name is Edward Cullen. Haha… I know many of you are not interested in whatever his name is, but I just can’t resist day-dreaming he is my Edward Cullen… I know it’s time to wake up.

Anyway, my top to-do-list for now is to let my eye rest and look at more trees or anything that is green in colour as much as possible. I don’t wish to be a blind girl. If not, I will not be able to see my Edward… :P
